In an age of technological breakthroughs and global challenges, a new movement is bridging the gap between innovation and compassion. At the heart of this is Bundeep Singh Rangar, a tech leader whose passion for disruptive ideas has now found an inspiring new purpose: supporting the creation of the Universal Peace Sanctuary in Lumbini, Nepal—a place envisioned to make peace as influential as progress.

 A Life Rooted in Action

Rangar, an accomplished CEO and investor, draws from a deeply ingrained sense of service shaped by his Sikh upbringing. Tithing and timely action have always been a cornerstone of his philosophy. “We’re only here for a short while,” he reflects, “so if you want to make a difference, make it now.”

This commitment carried him through a remarkable career in technology, media, and finance. As a Bloomberg reporter, Rangar pioneered Europe’s first technology news segment and engaged with tech icons like Sergey Brin and Steve Ballmer. Transitioning into finance, he founded PremFina, a financial inclusion firm, and became a notable investor in blockchain and digital assets.

Yet, it was a chance meeting at the invite-only ‘Satoshi Roundtable’ in Dubai that catalyzed a profound shift in Rangar’s journey. Sharing an elevator with ‘His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche’, a globally revered Tibetan Buddhist monk, Rangar discovered a vision of peace that resonated deeply with his values.

The Universal Peace Sanctuary: A Monument of Unity

The Universal Peace Sanctuary is more than a building—it’s a symbol of inclusivity, respect, and the shared humanity that transcends religion or creed. Designed in the shape of a lotus flower, it is dedicated to Queen Maya Devi, the mother of Buddha, and located in the UNESCO heritage site of Lumbini, Nepal.

Rinpoche’s vision is clear and profoundly simple: “I want to make peace more fashionable than war.” His call for unconditional love and mutual respect mirrors the values of great historical leaders like King Ashoka, who transformed an empire of conflict into one of compassion.

A Monk’s Vision Meets Tech Innovation

Rangar’s decision to back the Sanctuary was an emotional and intellectual one. His Eminence’s message of creating a “non-denominational temple” struck a chord. “If every person donated just one dollar,” Rinpoche says, “the Sanctuary could become a reality—and everyone would truly be part of it.”

Pre-COVID, the project began laying its foundation, with the eventual construction cost estimated at $100 million—a mere fraction of global military spending. Rangar has since galvanized support, hosting dinners and pledging a monumental 17-foot jadeite statue of Queen Maya Devi, underscoring the Sanctuary’s universal mission.

For Rangar, the Sanctuary represents more than spiritual refuge; it’s a beacon for self-discovery and global harmony. “If people can find peace within themselves,” he believes, “it will ripple outward, creating harmony in the world.”

The guiding principles of the Sanctuary echo Rangar’s own values as an investor. Just as he backs visionary teams capable of pivoting and thriving, he sees the Sanctuary as a “divine experience” that can inspire transformation on a personal and global scale.

With high-profile supporters, planned gala fundraisers, and growing awareness, the Universal Peace Sanctuary is poised to become a landmark of unity and hope. Rangar’s efforts to amplify its message reflect his belief that technology, when paired with timeless human values, can lead to a more harmonious world.

This is not just a vision for today—it’s a legacy for generations to come. Rangar says it best: “The Sanctuary is about creating those moments of wonder that touch the soul. It’s a call to embrace the extraordinary potential within each of us to make peace a reality.”
